A fun day with Grady

  • Feb. 1st, 2008 at 6:30 PM

We had a pretty nice family day today, though Grady still had a few random outbursts of fussiness (he's still a bit sick).  Eric doesn't really have to work on Fridays, though he has been since he just started.  He will typically work a couple hours in the morning, but today he took off entirely.  Grady let us sleep in until about 7:40 (fairly typical, but nice when Eric isn't getting up at 6:30 and waking me up).  We did our morning stuff and then decided to bring him to get his hair cut.  This was his second time, and we went to a place called "Snip-its", which is just for kids.  He LOVED it!  The place is really close to our house, and it's adorable.  The woman who cut his hair was so nice.  They put him in the mini chair and strapped him in.  There are individual TVs at each station, so they put on cartoons and gave him an animal cracker.  He was so content and smiley sitting there.  He was so good and still while she cut his hair and even used the buzzer.  When we were leaving, he got a lollipop.  We actually let him try it (it was his first), and he loved it, of course.  We also actually bought some baby spray-in mousse.  It's all natural and non-toxic.  You spray it in in the morning when they wake up with wild hair.  He often does since he takes a tub before bed and goes to bed with damp hair.

After that we came home to get some things done around here (STILL unpacking - BOO).  G took a pretty short nap, so that wasn't great.  It was only about an hour.  Once that was over we decided to go pick up the custom pillows we had done for the great room.  The rest of the furniture is not in yet, but those were.  It's nice because they set the color scheme for basically the whole first floor, and now we can use them to pick other stuff.

After that we decided to go to the zoo since it was a nice day.  We had fun - G loved the elephants (staring in awe) and the flamingos (giggling when they quacked or whatever they do).

This afternoon we hung out here and got some more done.  I also got a hair appointment for next weekend.  It is the first time I will be going since we moved down here, but it's an Aveda salon, so it should be pretty good.  I also made G's 15 month WBV appointment.

Tonight we are going to drink some wine and do a few more things.
