very quick update

  • Jul. 28th, 2008 at 11:08 AM

I am sure G is going to need me in a bit.  He is napping, but since he most definitely has croup now, it is very hard to sleep.  He was up choking a ton last night - really struggling to breathe - so scary!  Luckily, Eric just offered to sleep in there on the floor, so I just came in a few times to help out.  He knew I would be struggling with him all day today.  It's so sad.  Grady is actually in a pretty good mood somehow and being really lovey.  We went to Target this morning and I got him a little Elmo fire station play set as a treat.

As far as AF - still no show.  If I don't have it by tomorrow I will definitely retest.  I just feel silly testing over and over, considering I already got one BFN.  But I am really wondering why I have felt so crampy for days - probably just normal and I am overthinking it now.  I'll keep you updated!

So frustrated!

So when I went in to get Grady on Friday morning, I could tell right away that he was sick. He felt hot and sounded stuffy.  Turns out his temp was about 102.  Friday was a pretty miserable day - he would barely nap (45 minutes, I think?) and was not terribly fussy but not happy either.  On Saturday he woke up at 5AM and would not go back to sleep.  He took a 2 hour nap (had to go resettle him) and was out of sorts all day.  We did take him to the doctor and they ruled out an ear infection, strep, or anything else like that.  Last night we had plans to go out to dinner for our anniversary, but we cancelled since we didn't want to leave him with our neighbor.  Today he got up at 5:15 AM - insanely early!  Then he took a 30 minute nap and would not go back to sleep.  We are trying to get him to nap again and he is crying.  On top of it all, this is our anniversary, and it sucks.  I guess we will just put him to bed super early if he won't nap.  I really don't know what is wrong with him but this is the third day of 102 fever, and he doesn't seem any better.  He has never slept this poorly while sick.  Granted, he goes to bed around 6:45, but he never gets up early like that - usually at least 6:30AM and then he often falls back to sleep for another 30-45 minutes while he hangs out in there.  I was so happy with how his sleep has been.  It stinks so bad that a random sickness can mess all that up.  I hope it goes back to normal after this!

So yeah, this weekend has been terrible.  On top of it all, AF is late, I have had tons of cramps for days, but finally took a PG test and got a BFN, so who knows?  I did realize it was the type that doesn't work until the first day you are late, and sometimes AF varies a bit, but I would think it would work at this point.  Don't get me wrong - I was pretty relieved it was negative, but WTH with the cramps!?
