Well with the end of 2008 VERY fast approaching, I thought it was time to make some resolutions. I really like resolutions and usually do a pretty good job of at least making some progress on them throughout the year. A lot of these thing are things I have been thinking about for a while...
1. Get a book about meditating and start doing it daily. I am, by nature, a high-strung person, so I think this would be so very good for me.
2. Take a class once a week that gets me out of the house and lets me have some adult time. I have recently convinced Eric to go play basketball once a week with the DH of a friend of mine and some other guys. I think it's so good for him since he loves to play and wasn't finding time. I would like to take a dance class, a cake decorating class, a cooking class. I figure I can take a class for however long it runs and then replace it with something else. By the end of the year I should have a whole new set of skills!
3. Learn to sew - my office/craft room is basically all set up now. My sewing machine is in place. Now it is REALLY time to learn. Maybe I can find a class for that as part of #2!
4. Work on my relationship with Eric. Things have actually been pretty good lately, but we do tend to focus so much on G that we neglect each other. I would like to get a book about strengthening marriages and read it together.
5. Keep my grocery bill to less than $125 per week unless it is a special occasion or we are having guests. I KNOW I can do it. I swear, I will abandom my beloved Publix and shop at Walmart if I have to!
6. TTC baby #2!!! Set for Summer 2009!!!
7. Take Grady on at least one fun vacation and take one vacation for just me and E. I am thinking Bermuda for me and E but it may just be Charleston if his bonus stinks this year. In addition we will go see both of our families. When we go to NYC to see the IL we plan on taking a night or two to head down to Sesame Place in PA. Disney would be silly at this point for G, but he would loooooove Sesame Place. It sounds like we just need to go before schools are out.
8. Cook more in general. Also make more interesting things for Grady and cook more with him now that he is so interested in it.
9. Organize my house - since we moved here about a year ago, we first had to just get things set up. Now I am ready to really get things organized. I have a list of what I need to do.
10. Decorate our master bedroom and bath. We have furniture we love but we need to paint, get window treatments, artwork up, etc.
So that is my very ambitious list, but I am a listmaker so there you go. This is mostly for my own benefit so I can look back and see how I am doing.
